The NBA’s platform for licensed digital collectibles and NFTs, NBA Top Shot, has announced an airdrop to certain users. This is the first time where the platform has offered this kind of deal for users.
The NBA Top Shot Airdrop
The NBA Topshot platform will be offering a free pack to certain users for the first time to certain users. The free pack will feature a single moment NFT from the AT&T Slam Dunk Contest, which aired last night.
Particularly, those who qualify are people who purchased any moment on the marketplace or any starter pack on the Top Shot platform between February 1st and February 19th (yesterday).
To clarify, the packs, which are titled ‘Rim Shake’, will contain a unique Fandom Moment from last night’s AT&T Dunk Contest, ranging in rarity from 1,010 to other plays with five-figure Edition Sizes.
The platform expects that packs will be airdropped into qualified users’ accounts by the end of Monday, February 21st, at the latest.
Certainly, airdrops have been hugely popular within NFT and crypto. From more popular platforms like Looksrare, OpenDAO and Ethereum Name Services. To more low-key drops which have seen several people pocket up to thousands of dollars.
About the NBA Dunk Contest
The NBA Dunk Contest took place as a part of the NBA All-Star Weekend in Cleveland, Ohio. The contestants were as follows: Cole Anthony (Orlando Magic), Juan Toscano-Anderson (Golden State Warriors), Obi Toppin (New York Knicks) and Jalen Green (Houston Rockets). After Toscano-Anderson and Toppin moved onto the championship round, Obi Toppin eventually won the competition, 92-69.
Altogether, Obi Toppin has been a high-flying dunker throughout his entire career. Including his High School days and college days at Dayton. Also, now his NBA career, which he’s spent in New York at the Knicks.
To summarise, there will be moments featuring several players who competed in the contest. Which will be available in the packs.
